Set in the 16th century and based on the true story of Grace O’Malley, an Irish chieftain and notorious female pirate, this action-filled tale follows O’Malley as she leads her people and fights for her love, her family and Ireland. The epic musical adventure also brings O’Malley in confrontation with the other powerful woman of the period, Queen Elizabeth I of England. Written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, the same team that wrote Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, the sweeping score includes the evocative traditions of Irish folk song and dance.
